Class Placement for Next Year
In the midst of all of the HEC happenings, behind the scenes our staff is actively planning for next school year. We will accept letters from parents that help guide class placement for next year in order to ensure your child is in the best learning environment possible.
Parents may submit a letter to the school that lists special characteristics of your child or teacher qualities that would best suit your child's needs. All letters must be submitted to Melanie Harris, Assistant Principal, by Friday, May 10th. We ask that parents write a separate letter for each child.
Please note that letters may not request an individual teacher. Letters that request an individual teacher by name or are received after Friday, May 10th will not be honored and will be returned to the parent. Thank you for your understanding so that our team can make the best placement possible for your child.

Please know that all sales are final once an item has been stamped. Of course, parents are welcome any time to shop alone or during your child’s scheduled class time. We will be open on Thursday, May 9th until 5:45 pm.

BrightBytes Survey
Dear Parents and Guardians of HE Corley Elementary School,
We are partnering with BrightBytes, an educational research organization, in order to learn more about our students’ school and home technology use for learning.
We are reaching out to ask you to take part in a Technology & Learning questionnaire. Your participation is essential to help us form a more complete picture of technology use for learning in our students’ lives. Please know that all of your responses will remain anonymous to protect your privacy and they will help your child's school choose the right technology for their classrooms. It will take approximately 5 minutes to complete.
The last day to complete this questionnaire is May 3, 2019. Please complete the questionnaire using the steps below:
Navigate to BByt.es
Enter code QR7WP
Thank you for taking part in this important initiative!
TESTING REMINDERS (3RD, 4TH & 5TH GRADE)
With testing coming up soon, It is VERY important that students are in school and on time on ALL of the testing days. Please schedule any appointments on other days so that your child has time to complete the test on all days.
Some general guidelines are suggested to help your child be ready for the test!
Eat a healthy breakfast low in sugar and high in protein (eggs, cheese, peanut butter)
Get plenty of sleep the night before testing so students can be alert and ready to begin.
Be on time and ready to start testing.
Make sure your child is wearing comfortable clothes and shoes. The weather changes so often in South Carolina, so it may help to have them wear short sleeves to school but bring a jacket for both types of climates in the classroom.
Keep a positive attitude free from disputes that may often happen in the mornings.
Encourage your child that they can do it! Teachers have been preparing them to do their best and use what they have learned this year to be successful!
