Why such a great book?

In 1954, when the book was published, the World had just gotten out of one of the most gruesome wars ever seen with human eyes: World War 2. A decade later, the pot was cooling down its boil, allowing for the public to really see what lies at the bottom of everything.

Inspired by the turmoil, unlived by the public, William Golding had wanted to convey the idea of how easy it is for chaos and discord can happen in the presence of even the most civilized peoples of the early 20th century.

The boys, representing the innocence of young men drafted into the war, were traumatized by the event of a disastrous plane crash, leaving the boys trapped under no guidance.

And through the years, this story has been still kept as one of the greatest young adult novels ever written.

You will remember the first time you read it, and all of the emotions that come with it.
