We are excited to announce a new team at OLMP working to support students in our building. Mrs. Dunnigan will be joining Mrs. Rodin to grow our counselling department and work with students on improving their well being. Mrs. Dunnigan will be covering fully for the remainder of this school year as Mrs. Rodin said goodbye this week, leaving the school year early for knee surgery. Please pray for a healthy recovery for Mrs. Rodin.
OLMP Program Highlight
In High School Art student focus on three major components of visual learning; (1) drawing, (2) compositions, and (3) encounters with art as they work to draw, paint, mold and create. All students in high school art create a large composition each term where they spend several weeks working with a medium of their choice to create a larger composition while reflecting on elements and principals of design. Students work to create their own collections of work throughout the semester. See below images from this years art show where students curated their own collections and sought feedback from the community.
It is important to remember that Art 30 is a course that can be beneficial when working towards post secondary entrance requirements. Students at the 30 level need to develop their own personal taste and style as they create their portfolios of work.
