Mrs. Silerio welcomes you to the DJMS Library! This is her third year as our librarian and says it’s the best job in the school. Previously, she taught 7th and 8th grade ELA here at Danny Jones and served as department head. Mrs. Silerio has a real passion for books and making the library a place where students want to be. She aims to empower students to be effective and responsible users of ideas and information and develop a life-long love of reading. By providing both a welcoming, accessible space and relevant, diverse resources, her ultimate goals are for all students to be enthusiastic and critical readers and for the school community to be effective and responsible users of ideas and information through collaboration and inquiry.
Along with her duties as librarian, she is our campus webmaster and an active member of the Texas Library Association where she volunteers on member committees. Students and parents can connect with Mrs. Silerio and the library by joining the DJMS library Canvas course and by following the library on Twitter and Instagram @djms_library.

The Danny Jones Middle School Counseling are pleased to offer several small group counseling opportunities throughout the year to assist students to reach their full personal and academic potential. The groups are usually six to eight sessions meeting weekly/biweekly. The groups are typically closed ended groups, meaning that students are not added to existing groups (after the groups have begun) unless there are extreme extenuating circumstances and group dynamics allow for new members. All groups are confidential. Students are considered for group participation based on teacher/administrator recommendations and parent request.
Time and Duration
Groups will typically meet during the school day(unless before or after school works) for 4-6 sessions approximately 30 minutes.
Confidentiality
Participation is voluntary and student confidentiality will be addressed and respected.
