Please remember that our Board Retreat is tonight, Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 6:15 p.m. at the Board Administrative Office at 231 Black Horse Lane in the 2nd floor conference room. All are welcome to attend and like board meetings, this retreat will be streamed live and can be accessed on the website prior to the start of the meeting at www.sbschools.org. We are no longer quarantining for any student travel whether domestic or international effective March 7, 2022
NJSLA UPDATE
EDUCATOR AND EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT PERSON OF THE YEAR

we hope you will consider celebrating one (or more!) of our faculty with a nomination letter. Educators include content/grade-level teachers, special education teachers, and all educational specialists. Educational Support People include secretaries, custodians, bus drivers and paraprofessionals.
Submissions can be made online at https://tinyurl.com/SBSDnominate or via email to Rachel.Kolibas@sbschools.org. You can also mail submissions to our Administrative Office at 231 Black Horse Lane, Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852 to the attention of Rachel Kolibas.
Please note that submissions must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17th.

CROSSROADS STUDENTS PLACE FOR STATE COMPETITION IN GEOGRAPHY BEE EXAM
Congratulations to all students who competed in the Online Regional Qualifying
Geography Bee Exam, which is part of the International Academic Competition. On
Sunday, February 27, 2022, many of our students qualified to participate in the Delaware
Regional Finals Geography Bee and three seventh graders placed for the State
Competition. Those students are:
First Place: Kapil Chamarty-7th grade Crossroads South
Second Place: Om Bhaskar-7th grade Crossroads North
Third place: Sammy Asefa-7th grade Crossroads North
The qualifying students competed in three live initial rounds which had 30 questions
each and then a final round. The next step for our three winners is the State
Competition. South Brunswick sends well wishes for the next steps of the competition!
There will be an additional online Geography Bee soon for those students who placed in
the Regional Competition and prefer to participate online. We wish those students good
luck!
South Brunswick would also like to acknowledge the Crossroads social studies teachers
for facilitating the Online Regional Qualifying Exam in their classes. Special thanks to
Mike Bottino, 7th grade Social Studies Teacher from Crossroads South, and Catherine
O’Keefe, 7th grade Social Studies Teacher from Crossroads North, for facilitating the
competition at their respective buildings.
