Radiolab - Radio lab is actually a program that is produced and aired in New York City. But the website and ITunes offer podcasts of the weekly program. I love podcasts for walking the dog or long car rides, and Radio lab is at the top of my list. Their programs have some of the most fascinating true stories about 'science, philosophy and human experience'
For example my recent favorite episode from January 17 about the 'Black Box' phenomenon has three short stories, the first about the invention of anesthesia and the science behind how it works on your brain during surgery will shock you, I always thought it put you to sleep but was I ever wrong!! You won't want to miss this episode.
The best part about this podcast is their format, these stories aren't told in a boring documentary sort of way. It's more like radio theater, with sound effects, humor and just great story telling.
