Halo Notes

St. Louis Catholic High School

Thursday, December 6, 2018

Dear Saints Parents,

As 2018 comes to a close, let us all be reminded of the gift of a Catholic education. No one believed in the power of a Catholic education to form our children for life more than our dear friend Deacon Glenn Viau. It is with great pleasure that we announce that a portion of the proceeds from The Saints Fund will go toward establishing an endowed scholarship in memory of Deacon Viau. To make your gifts, please visit www.slchs.org/giving and click on "The Saints Fund" to establish your one-time or recurring gift. May the spirit of our dear friend live on at St. Louis Catholic High School. #wearesaints

God Bless,

Ashley Ivey-Atkins

Director of Advancement

We encourage you to pray what was one of Deacon Viau's favorite prayers (attributed to St. Ignatius of Loyola):

Lord Jesus, teach me to be generous.

Teach me to serve as you deserve.

To give and not to count the cost,

To fight and not to heed the wounds,

To toil and not to seek for rest,

To labor and not to seek reward,

Except that of knowing

That I do your will.

Reminder: Students Report at 8:49 a.m. Friday

Don’t let your child miss out on the special Academic Support block on Friday starting at 8:53 a.m.! Last week, students were able to pre-select a class to attend for remediation and support leading up to the end of the semester (or counselors assigned a class based on their grades).

Feedback from last year was overwhelmingly positive, and we believe this gives students time to better prepare for upcoming midterms. Please ask your child what session they will be attending. The list is posted near the library.

Friday's Schedule: Dismissal at 1:45 p.m.

Friday's periods are as follows:

8:53-9:53 a.m.: Academic Support

10:07-11:07 a.m.: Mass

11:11 a.m.-12:11 p.m.: Marian Procession (in observance of the feast of the Immaculate Conception)

Common Lunch

12:45-1:45 p.m.: Faculty/Student Volleyball Games

Need a Stocking Stuffer? Saints Earbuds On Sale for $5!
