Week 6 Newsletter 9/16/16
From the Director's Desk
We have enjoyed our week! Our grandparents visited us Monday to celebrate Grandparents' Day, and we expect our pictures back next week. We received diaper wipe donations, and we are looking forward to Family Fun Night next Monday. Family Fun Night will take place September 19th from 5:30 to 6:30 in our classrooms. Please remember to submit your payment authorization form to Meagan Sweeney today!

Infant Room 1 (1-54)
This week in the infant room we have a new friend. All three babies love spending time on the mat playing and watching each other. Two of our babies are getting new teeth. Our smallest one is holding his head up and getting so strong. We also have enjoyed spending time outdoors going on morning stroller rides.

Our babies are able to walk and talk more everyday. We are working on singing the alphabet song. We are going over the nursery rhymes; they really like Baa Baa Black Sheep. During math time we count to ten.

Toddler Room 1 (1-56)
We discussed grandparent roles in our lives. We read The New Batch by Jerry Tello, which shows how a grandmother teaches a granddaughter to make tortillas. The children learned to care for others by taking care of their babies. During art time we painted trees and put family names on them. In math, we are counting up to 20 and learning shapes. This week we sang "The Gummy Bear." Parents we still need family portraits to finish decorating our art wall. Thanks for everything you do!

Toddler Room 2 (1-58)
This week learned about respect; we practiced saying nice things about our friends and how to use our manners. The letter we have been focusing on is B. We’ve read a few books this week, we even took a trip to the Franklin School library where Mrs. Faris read some books to us, and our favorite one was The Napping House. We worked on following directions and how to walk in a straight line. We also made scarecrows to put up in our classroom. We had a fantastic week!
