Pineapple PD at CCHS
Vol 1
Professional Development During the 2020 School Year
The pineapple has long been a symbol of hospitality; it's used at CCHS in the spirit of welcoming one another into our school "homes." More often than not, our best resource is the teacher next door.
Throughout the 2020 school year, teachers will invite each other into their rooms to learn effective teaching strategies. Pineapple teach weeks will be offered on the following dates:
- 10/19/20 - 10/24/20
- 1/19/21 - 1/22/21
- 3/29/21 - 4/1/21
Questions about Teams?
Microsoft Teams is a collaboration app that allows team members to chat with each other, organize their calendars, send files to other team members, and conduct video or audio calls over the web. All in one place, where ever you are.
To jump in we will separate Microsoft Teams into two components. The first half is utilized for document storage (which we already utilize SharePoint for). The second part is used for communication through chat, audio, and video conferencing, which is how Pasco County Schools utilizes Teams. To clarify further, you do not need a "Team" to be created to leverage the use of the collaborative functionality of Teams. Our recommendation to always use the Teams client application, meaning the application that lives in your applications.

If you would like to create a Teams meeting by only sending a link, first create a Team calendar invite and send it to one person. After sending the meeting, click on your calendar in Teams. This will open the meeting details page. In the description field, there will now be a Join Microsoft Teams Meeting Link. Simply copy and paste. Anyone with the link can now join the meeting.
Currently, Teams does not have the ability to create breakout rooms. However, this can be easily solved by creating a oneNote agenda and adding links to multiple sessions. It is expected that Teams will add this capability in the Fall.
