A Message from the Principal of Learning Post Academy
Week of 8/23-8/27
Greetings LPA Families,
I hope that you had a great start to the new school year! Thank you to all of our families and students for your enthusiasm to get the school year started! As an update, we have the highest enrollment in the history of Learning Post Academy. At this moment, we have a total population of 420 students and on a daily basis, we continue to receive more applications.
By this week, you should have received the following: an updated schedule in Infinite Campus (IC), access to your APEX classroom and the name of your supervising teacher. If you have not received this information, please reach out to our office Mrs. Davidson at pdavidson@hartdistrict.org and Mrs. Block at jblock@hartdistrict.org
Your supervising teacher should be your first point of contact for any assistance with APEX or your independent study program, or you can reach out to your individual academic content teachers for questions about your class work. Our academic counselor is Ms. Jillian Edmonson and for scheduling questions, you can reach her at jedmonson@hardistrict.org
As a school, we are confident that we are offering a safe digital learning environment that meets the needs of our entire community. We are pleased to be the premier choice for online learning in the Santa Clarita Valley.
We look forward to supporting all of our new and returning students this school year. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Dr. Juliet Fine

Tips and Tricks for a Successful Independent Study Experience
The most successful students at Learning Post Academy are consistent with their academic behaviors. Here are few reminders for our students:
- Create a schedule and stick to it.
- Maintain a positive mindset.
- Be honest with yourself and your teachers.
- Make daily progress in APEX.
In order to have a successful school year, you should create a schedule that allows you to create consistent habits. What morning routines help you get your day started? Consider what subject matter will help motivate you? Will it help you to start with your most challenging subject matter or do you want to ease into the day starting with your strongest subject?
Always be honest with yourself and your teacher. If you don't understand a concept, that's ok, don't try to rush ahead. Please ask us for help, we're here for you. Make an appointment with your teacher so they can assist you.
Everyday, try to spend at least one hour a day per subject matter to ensure you are making adequate academic progress. If all of your classes are in APEX, on average, you should be spending six hours a day on school work.
Parents, please look out for a coaching report. Every Monday, our teachers will send you a coaching report to help you monitor your child's academic progress. Please read these carefully and ask questions if anything is unclear.
And, lastly, try to maintain a positive mindset. Online schooling and independent study is very different than the comprehensive school site. Take actions to keep yourself motivated and focus on your goals.
