Hybrid Schedule for November 30th - December 18th.
Hybrid Schedule Change to Full Remote for November 30th - December 18th
Beginning on November 30, Dublin City Schools Secondary Schools will move to full remote learning for students who were previously in hybrid. This change comes as a result in the rise in COVID cases in our community and is necessary to keep our students safe. Dublin Middle Schools will follow this schedule.
This schedule is a change from the previously used schedule in the fall and requires students to log in for ALL of their classes. Currently, lunch periods have been repurposed for the Study Center. Students will be asked to log in to the Study Center as a checkpoint with teachers and will get extra assistance as needed. Teachers should be communicating these logins with students. Additionally, Music teachers will be in contact with students to develop their every other day schedule.
If your 8th grade student is enrolled in a first period world language class (being taught by a high school teacher) their instructional method remains the same.
We appreciate your patience as we continue to work through some of these logistics required in this schedule. As with everything during these uncertain times, we have learned from our experiences and continue to improve on things that we are doing at school. We believe that this schedule provides more direct contact with teachers, consistency throughout the day, daily interactions with classmates, and begins to prepare students for a full day schedule when the district is able to do a 100% return. We understand that you may have some concerns regarding the amount of screen time for your student during the day. Please know that your student will not be on a Google Meet 40 minutes a day for all 8 periods. Teachers will use their professional discretion to balance synchronous class/instructional time with asynchronous assignments. On Monday morning at 8:00 am, all students should go to their 1st period class in Schoology and look for a link to a Google Meet.
As we prepare for full remote learning, I ask that families prepare a learning spot for your child, free from distractions in order to set them up for success. Please help us stress the importance of logging in for every class and fully participating. We encourage students to have their cameras on during instruction and remain focused to the tasks
If your child is going to be absent from class, for sick or other reasons, please report your absence to the Grizzell Attendance office. You can do that by calling (614) 718- 8600 or sending an email to gmsattendance@dublinschools.net. COVID related absences or symptoms should still be reported to the school.
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need assistance with anything. We are here to help.
Winter Athletics on Pause for Middle Schools
Over the past few weeks, the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in central Ohio and specifically within the Dublin school district have sharply increased. Due to the overwhelming increase of positive cases, most specifically in Dublin, a decision has been made regarding middle school extracurricular activities.
Effective immediately, ALL middle school activities (sports and extracurriculars) have been paused until Monday, November 30, 2020. After this pause, District Administration will revisit this decision in order to determine the next course of action moving forward.
We want our students to participate this season, therefore, taking safety precautions outside of school is equally as important to what we do in school. As many have been doing, mitigation strategies at home need to be followed. Thank you for your diligence in social distancing, wearing face coverings, and washing your hands.
Virtual Calming Room Available to Students
This Virtual Calming Room is a place for students to find strategies and tools for managing emotions. Hopefully you find this resource helpful - you can use proactively or when life feels a bit overwhelming.

Dublin Ski and Board Club Canceled for the 2021 Winter Season
Thank you for your patience. I regret to inform you that Dublin Ski and Board Club has been canceled for the 2021 winter season. Student safety is our priority. Given the current COVID numbers and being in a global pandemic, we are unable to safely continue with Ski and Board Club. In addition, Mad River Mountain is unable to accommodate Ski Clubs this year and is not offering student ski club rates.
Although we are not having an organized Ski Club, I do have some good news for you!
Snow Trails is offering a discounted rate if you purchase by November 30th. Please See The Attached Flyer. Also, Colorado Mountain is offering a discount to Dublin City Schools students. Please See The Attached Flyer.
Finally, Mad River is offering their EPIC Pass. Check with their website for details about Reservations.
Again, I apologize that Dublin Ski and Board will not proceed for the 2020-2021 school year, but wish you all a safe winter ski season on your own! Skis up!
