Fundraiser Pickup - IMPORTANT INFORMATION
A big thank you to all the students and families that supported Gregory Middle School by participating in our fundraiser. Your contributions are much appreciated and will directly benefit the students here at Gregory.
The items that were sold by the students will be dropped off at Gregory Middle School next Tuesday, October 9th. These items may be picked up by students at the end of the school day. If the quantity of items your child sold are too large in number or size to walk home or take the bus, they can be picked up by parents after the buses depart at the conclusion of our school day (after 3:20PM).
After hours pickup will be from 3:20-5:30 on Tuesday, October 9th.

REFLECTIONS, The National PTA Arts Program is now accepting entries for the 2018-2019 School Year. This program provides students opportunity to showcase their talents in the listed Art categories and represent their school at the National level! Theme of this year: “HEROES AROUND ME”. Art work submission is due November 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Art Categories are: Visual Arts, Literature, Music, Composition, Dance Choreography, Film Production and Photography. ALL students who participate this year will be recognized. Students who advance to District/State or National level will be recognized with Awards/Prizes. All winning works will be debuted at the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, DC “National PTA Student Arts Showcase and exhibit opening on January 22, 2019”. The 2018-2019 national winners will be announced May 1, 2019. Honorees will be celebrated at the National PTA Convention, June 2019. More information will be available in the Main Office by Monday!
The cafeteria’s snack bar is open after school until about 3:15 for students wanting to grab an afternoon snack.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent/Teacher Conferences: It won’t be long and Parent/Teacher Conferences will be here. This year, conferences will be held on November 1 from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. and on November 5th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In order to sign up for conferences, you will be logging in to PowerPTC via your Home Access account. Please watch your email for more information coming soon about signing up, and if you need help logging into Home Access, just contact our office at 428-6300.
IPPC Coat Drive
During the month of October, we ask you to Share the Warmth with your friends and neighbors. We are collecting new or gently used, clean coats of all sizes (infant through adult plus size), in addition to other winter accessories (boots, hats, coats, scarves, snow pants, etc.). The winter items will be distributed to families in need within our district in early November. Please make sure zippers are in good working condition. Gregory Middle School will be collecting new or gently worn, clean winter items from October 1st - October 26th. Please drop off inside the main entrance by the greeter's desk.
Sport and Club News
Any 6th, 7th or 8th grader interested in participating in intramural Badminton should pick up a permission slip in the Main Office. Due to limited space, only 20 students will be accepted in to the activity for each of the two sessions. Permission slips may be brought in to Ms. Sheehan in Room 205. Our first session begins October 9.
Attention all 6th, 7th and 8th grade boys and girls! Our first yearbook meeting will be held on October 11 at 3:05 in Room 16. You will need a permission slip to attend and slips can be picked up in the Main Office. 7th and 8th graders, we especially need YOU!
The GMS Competitive Robotics Team is coming back! There will be a pre-season information meeting for all interested students and their parents on October 19th at 3:45 in the commons. Please see Mr. Schaffer with any questions! Please visit this site for more information:
Intramural Wrestling is back and open to all 6th and 7th-grade students! Please see your Science teacher for a permission slip and any questions go to Coach Kill or Coach Park. First practice is October 15 in the Commons.
Attention 8th Grade boys interested in trying out for basketball:
Information for the 8th grade boys’ basketball team can be found on the Gregory basketball website. You can access the link from the Athletics tab on the Gregory home page. 8th Grade Boys’ Basketball Website
The registration form for 8th graders is done on-line through the basketball website. All 8th graders trying out must have a current physical on file with the school nurse. A parent/guardian must fill out the on-line form entirely. This on-line form must be completed by 11:59 PM on October 23, 2018 to participate in the first practice/tryout. 7th Grade tryout forms are available in the Boys’ P.E. Office or Health Classes. Please turn in all paperwork to Coach Wes or Coach Crowe, not to the Main Office. In order to attend tryouts you MUST:
Turn in a completed parent permission slip;
Have a valid & Current physical on file with the nurse;
Have a signed concussion awareness form.
DO NOT TURN IN ANY ACTIVITY FEES PRIOR TO TRYOUTS
7th graders must have all paperwork turned in by 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24 in order to tryout on the 25th.
