Japan

Following a defeat, Japan was occupied by American forces. It was soon adopted a democratic form of government, resumed self-government, and became a strong ally of the United States.

Europe and The Marshall Plan

Europe was in the ruins after World War II. Leading to the formation of the Marshall Plan. The Marshall Plan was launched by the United States and provided massive financial aid to rebuild European economies and to prevent the spread of communism.
