MMS Wrestling
Ms. Clark has been informed that we will NOT be able to have wrestling tryouts starting this Monday, March 29th. This is per the State High School Athletic Association. This has to do with the covid regulations that must be followed and the nature of the sport of wrestling. Ms. Clark will keep you informed as she receives more information and hopefully that will be soon. Thank you for your understanding,
Ms. Clark
4th Quarter @ MMS
We are excited to have our students back in the building! We understand there's some confusion about what students are doing while they are on campus. Based on questions that we have been asked on social media, emails, and during conversations we have created a FAQ document. The intention of this document is to provide parents with clarification about the hybrid model.
MMS Plan A
Under Plan A, social distancing will not be possible; however, we will still be following several safety protocols that are required such as entrance screenings, masking, hand washing, disinfecting, and prohibiting large gatherings such as assemblies, etc
MAWI Lesson
During one class session the week of March 29th, the MMS science department will facilitate MAWI Relationships Lesson 5- See the Invisible.
MMS is using the MAWI program to facilitate social and emotional lessons that are designed to help students build life-long coping skills.
Rising 8th Grade Students and Parents (Current 7th grade students)
Last week rising 8th grade students started to register for 8th grade classes. Each in person and virtual student was led through the registration process for core, elective, and IMP time classes for the 2021-2022 school year. The registration process will remain open until April 23, 2021 @ 8:00 P.M. All of the information surrounding registration for rising 8th grade students can be found the MMS Registration Website (<-- click the link).
Please reach out to Mrs. Pratt-Dixon with any questions or to have help going through the registration process @ tprattdixon@mgsd.k12.nc.us or 704-658-2729
Ms. Pratt-Dixon is in the process of reaching out to each student who has not yet registered.
Thanks,
Ms. Tracy Pratt-Dixon
In Building Expectations
While in the building all students are expected to follow the following school-wide expectations:
- Students must wear a mask covering their nose and mouth while in the building. If a student is not wearing his/her mask correctly the teacher will give the student a warning. If the issue continues we will contact parents.
- Students should not use cellphones during class or while in the hallway. Students are allowed to use their cell phone during SHAC time.
- Students should not wear headphones in the hallway
- Please be sure all students are dressed appropriately for school.
A message from the Mooresville Public Library
On May 18, 2021 at 5:00, the Mooresville Public Library will be hosting a virtual presentation by Young Adult author Pam Withers. Pam is a multi-time award winning author who writes action/adventures stories. For every student who registers for the program, the library will provide a link that will allow students to download a copy of Pam’s book “The Parkour Club”. We also have ebook copies of many of Pam’s other works and I am ordering some of her titles in print. This is an opportunity to “meet” and talk with an award-winning author. Here is a link telling more about the program. To register, please visit our calendar of events at https://mooresvillenc.evanced.info/signup/calendar, select the day of the event and fill out the form, or you can email Ms. Mosher using mmosher@mooresvillenc.gov and the public library will register you.
