On Monday we traveled to Rolla with our team to compete against other teams across the state. We returned yesterday evening as the 2nd place team for Creative Problem Solving in the state and are now eligible to advance to Internationals in June.

β¨ March Students/Staff of the Month
Reflective:
"We thoughtfully consider the world and our own ideas and experience. We work to understand our strengths and weaknesses in order to support our learning and personal development."
AURORA NICOL
βAurora is reflective and an IB student. She often connects ideas from other classes to whatβs happening now. She thinks before acting and is very thoughtful and kind to those around her.β
GRISEL CRUZ
βGrisel embodies the IB Learner Profile Attribute of being reflective because of the quote above regarding "without reflection" a person goes blindly on their way, creating unintended consequences" is the definition of this young lady. She has done much reflection of herself and completely turned her life around. I could not be prouder of this young lady!β
MS. VERONICA REA
βMs. Rea is an excellent advocate for her students and a consummate teammate with the staff she works with. The relationships she has built with her students has allowed them to grow and find success in all phases in their lives. Ms. Reaβs impact each day is immense and has made NKCHS a better place.β
CONGRATULATIONS
Choir Rocks!
Please help me congratulate our very own A Cappella and Chamber Choirs β both ensembles received the highest ranking possible at State Contest yesterday!
Thank you to all of you who have helped rearrange schedules to allow for these students to rehearse and participate in this event! The snow day reschedule through a wrench in our plans and your support meant the world to us!

β¨ Prom Information
Ticket selling will look a little different for prom than it did for homecoming. Only the senior class may purchase their tickets starting April 11th and ending April 15th. You will stop by Mr. OβKeefeβs room (B144) during your lunch and buy your ticket there. The following week of April 18th to April 22nd is when ticket selling will open to both the senior and junior class. Tickets during the 2nd week will be sold during all lunches from the concession stand on the 1st floor cafeteria and they will be FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. Once we are out of tickets to sell, we are out, no exceptions. Unfortunately, this is out of our control as we are unable to do anything about this due to the venueβs rules and regulations. The tickets will be sold for $30 each.
If you are wanting to bring a guest that isnβt a Northtown student, you must have a guest form turned in and approved before you may purchase their ticket. (*April 11th deadline!) Failure to do so will result in that guest not being able to attend. You also must bring an I.D. of any kind with you when you purchase your ticket (doesnβt matter if its government issued or from the school). If you have no ID for you or your guest (if you are bringing one) you will be unable to purchase the ticket(s).
The dance itself is on April 23rd from 7-10pm at Studio Dan Meiners, 2500 W Pennway St, Kansas City, MO 64108. IT IS NO LONGER AT OLDE MILL EMPORIUM IN PARKVILLE!! You will be given a map the day you buy your ticket that shows you how to get to the venue from the school along with where you are supposed to park for the night of the dance. When you arrive for the dance, you will only be able to enter the venue if you show both the ticket you have purchased and any form of identification (government issued ID or a school ID). Failure to bring these items will result in you not being able to enter the dance. You will vote for prom king and queen at the dance! Not during the school day like how you did for homecoming. The king and queen winners will be announced towards the end of the dance so please stay to hear who those individuals will be J
Below is the electronic guest form. This must be turned back in by April 11th to Mrs. Carney in the attendance office.

SCHOOL UPDATES
Summer School Information
Itβs time to set our sights on summer, Hornet Families!
This message contains information on the 2022 high school Summer School options available for our current and incoming Freshmen, Sophomore, and Junior students.
In June, we are offering first-time credit for Health, Personal Finance, and PE. These three courses will be virtual offerings through Canvas. If your student has a special circumstance and needs a different course for first-time credit, it will need to be approved by his or her counselor.
We are also offering credit recovery for high school students needing to recoup credit for any semester of class that they failed. These credit recovery classes are taken for pass/fail through our online program, Launch. These classes will also take place in June and require students to attend learning labs at North Kansas City High School.
To sign up for Summer School, please see the attached flyer, or click on the link here.
If you have any additional questions about Summer School, please contact your high school student's counselor or Northtown's Assistant Principal, Theo Fundermann.
