WHAT CAN YOU DO TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S GOOD ATTENDANCE?

  • Set a regular bedtime and morning routine
  • Lay out clothes and pack backpacks the night before
  • Arrive at the bus stop 5 minutes early
  • Don't let your child stay home unless he/she is truly sick. Keep in mind complaints of stomach ache and headache can be signs of anxiety and not a reason to stay home.
  • If your child seems anxious about going to school, talk to the teacher, school counselors, or other parents for for advice on how to make him/her comfortable and excited about learning.
  • Develop a back up plan for arriving at school if something comes up. Call on a family member, neighbor, or friend to help.
  • Avoid medical appointments and extended trips when school is in session.

Reading

Reading is so important. Why your your child should read every night for 20 min or you should read to them. They are continuously developing skills through text, story lines, and making connections.

Texas Generation Week

Generation Texas Week is November 18-22. During this week students will be exploring careers and learning about educational options after high school. We are encouraging all of our students to follow the daily themes. Please click on attached for details.

Fill the Food Pantry Ends Monday

It's not too late, our last day of donation is Monday. In partnership with Interfaith of The Woodlands, Sally K. Ride would once again like to host a food drive in order to fill the pantry during this time of year. In each hallway, there will be plastic bins set up for Challengers to drop off their donations. Fourth grade students will be there to receive the donations each morning. Our food drive will run from: Tuesday, November 12th thru Monday, November 18th.

Children In Santa's Dreams

Last year our CSD Police Department provided Christmas gifts to over 709 children in 269 families within Conroe ISD. We could not have done this without your help. Please click on attached flyer on how you can help!

Book Fair Week

Snow Much To Read!

Brrr! Come on in to our Arctic Adventure Book Fair! We will host a Book Fair on December 9th – 13th in the school library. During the week, the Book Fair is open from 7:30am– 3:00pm. The Book Fair will also be open on the evening of December 12th during Storytime with Santa. We will close at 10:00am on Friday, December 13th. Students can bring money during the week to purchase books! We also have a new digital payment option. Students can have a virtual account that they use to pay and do not have to bring money to school. Visit scholastic.com/fair and find our school’s homepage to open up an ewallet account for your child. Profits from the Book Fair will be used to purchase books for our Library Media Center. We can’t wait to see everyone there!

We also have some wonderful Book Fair volunteer opportunities! Please click here to sign up to volunteer! Thanks for volunteering!

Character Trait Citizenship

During the month of November we will be focusing on the character trait citizenship. Being a good citizen means to be a caring, respectful person who obeys the rules. There are many ways to be a good citizen both at home and at school. A few examples are listed. Students in 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade will write how to be a good citizen on leaf cutouts that will be displayed on the tree in the hallway.
