GES Title I Tips
August/September 2022
PARENT ENGAGEMENT = STUDENT SUCCESS
Welcome Back!
This monthly newsletter will offer tips on how to become more engaged in the education process and more involved in events at our school. This month's newsletter will be the longest of the year since we have so much information to share. Please be sure to take a few moments to read this newsletter each month!
We pledge to work tirelessly on behalf of your children and hope that you will join us in that pledge so that all GES students have a successful 2022-2023 school year!
Sincerely,
Marissa Watson

FAMILY ENGAGEMENT FOCUS
Questions to Ask Your Child Instead of "How was your day?"
- What did you learn today? What are you excited to learn about tomorrow?
- What was your favorite part of the day? Why?
- Were you able to make good choices today?
- Who did you play with today?
- Did something make you smile today?
- Did you help anyone today? Did anyone help you with something?
- What made you laugh?
- What was your favorite/least favorite part of your day?
TITLE I INTERPRETED - What does it mean to be a Title I school?
Title I is part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). It provides financial assistance to schools to meet the needs of at-risk students. The goal of Title I is to provide instructional service and activities that support students in meeting the state’s challenging performance standards. ALL students benefit from being in a Title I school!
