A Note from the Principal
Monday, MAPS testing begins. These building-wide tests are administered three times per year. The results are useful tools for our teaching staff to address learning gaps and growth opportunities. Test anxiety can be a real issue for some students. Please address with your child(ren) that feeling anxious is perfectly normal. Reinforce that proper rest, fueling your body with a good breakfast, and coming to school with a great attitude are all helpful. As always, students are permitted to bring mints in a baggy. Please remove and discard wrappers before bringing them to school. We look forward to sharing these results with you in November. Should you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher directly.
Finally, next week we do not have school on Friday, October 9th, or Monday, October 12th.
Grace and peace,
Mrs. Hibler

St. Jude alumni, and two-time Olympic Silver Medalist, Brianne McLaughlin to offer hockey clinic!
I wanted to make sure you were all aware of a very exciting opportunity the Monsters announced last Thursday. For the first time ever, the Monsters are hosting a Girls Street Hockey Clinic at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Saturday, October 10th. This is the first-ever girls-only event the Monsters have hosted under the Grow the Game platform. An even more exciting detail is that the head coach running the clinic is none other than Cleveland native, St. Jude School ( Class of 2001) and Elyria Catholic alumni, and two-time Olympic Silver Medalist, Brianne McLaughlin!
For only a $10 donation to the Monsters Community Foundation, girls ages 5 – 14 will receive 60-minutes of hockey instruction followed by a 30 minute Q&A with Brianne about her experience playing hockey throughout her career. Also included in registration is an exclusive ‘Girls Grow the Game’ t-shirt (pictured in the email) and a ticket to a future Monsters home game.
This event is geared towards beginners with little to no experience AND players that have prior hockey experience. This is an incredible opportunity for girls of all skill levels to get in front of someone that has played at the collegiate and national level with years of prior coaching experience.
