A Message from Principal Boucher
SLPHS Families,
I spent most of yesterday getting around the building and checking in on our “B” day students and their teachers. Students and staff were glad to be able learn together in person, and we look forward to seeing our “A” day students tomorrow.
A couple quick reminders for families of students in our Modified Campus (Hybrid) model:
- Students should continue conducting a health self-screen before coming to school. If any symptoms are present, students must stay home and parents should call the health line.
- While students have two days of at-school learning during Modified Campus, they also have three days of at-home learning. Parents and guardians, please reinforce with your student the expectation that they engage in learning on their at-home learning days.
- On at-home learning days, students should work on their assigned learning tasks and maintain academic engagement with their coursework.
- In some courses, students may be expected to join a class WebEx from home to continue engaging with the learning in the course while working at home.
Trimester 3 is only a few weeks away. If your family wants to request a change from Extended Flexible Learning to Modified Campus (hybrid), you can make the request by contacting the SLPHS main office February 22-26. We’ll be working to honor all requests as we begin the trimester. Families may also request a move from Modified Campus (hybrid) to Extended Flexible Learning and you can continue to make those requests at any time.
And finally, I hope your calendar is marked and you are planning to tune in to the Panthers for a Purpose virtual giving event Saturday, February 27 at 7 p.m. This live, virtual community event will include fun with some familiar faces all while supporting a worthy cause – feeding kids when school isn’t in session!
One school, one community, #SLPPantherProud!
