Charles Dickens

Charles Dickens was an amazing author but didn't grow up in the best way. The industrialization helped Charles develop his writing style. It made his writing style describe the harshness of the new urban lifestyle. He grew up in a life full of poverty and child labor. He started out having an okay home life but his fathers selfish behavior ruined it. Some other books Charles Dickens wrote are Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, Hard Times, and many more great books.

Victorian Era

The Victorian Era was from 1837 to 1901. During this era most people were living in poverty. One change they made in 1878 was the Factory Act. This act stated that children under the age of ten can't work. The primary language was English. Most people's life expectancy was about 40 years old. Some of the things people did for fun during this time were fern hunting, Theater of Shadows, mummy unrolling, and cabinet of curiosity.
