Celebrating Our Veterans and First Responders
We will provide breakfast for the honored CHAMPION and the student(s) that invited them at 7:30 AM on November 9, 2018. They will be honored by all our students with a "walk of champions" around our school and will be the guests of honor at a special performance at 8:15 AM.

Don't forget to place your orders for the 2018-2019 Boyd Elementary Yearbook. Yearbooks are $30.
You can place the order online directly at www.jostens.com or by sending in the order form with either cash or a check.

The following students have won awards at district level of the 2018 City of Allen Recycled Art Contest!
Mady Soto – won 3rd place in 2nd grade for her poster
Aubrey Greathouse – won 1st place in 4th grade for her poster
Aileen Lopez – won 2nd place in 5th grade for her sculpture
There is was an awards ceremony on Sat., Nov. 3rd at City Hall in the Council Chambers. Prizes and ribbons were awarded by the Mayor, members of City Council and members of the Keep Allen Beautiful Board.
A Note from the Librarian
During November your student will be learning about two programs, Tumblebooks and Overdrive, that provide online books in English and Spanish to students for free.
Both programs can be logged on to at home through the Boyd Library Website “Ebook Resources”. https://www.allenisd.org/Page/20589
Both Tumblebooks and Overdrive have apps that can be downloaded for free on to any phone or tablet. The Tumblebooks app is under the same name while the Overdrive app is named Sora by Overdrive.
