Climate
In the northern region of Italy, it can be miserable with cold and rainy conditions. Now closer to Rome in the central part of Italy, the temperature stays cool. However, when we get to the southern region of Italy, the climate becomes mild and comfortable, but in the summer, temperatures can reach up to 104 degrees Fahrenheit! For the rest of Italy, they experience the same typical summers as we do.
Food and Textiles
Italy has been a mainstay in the fashion industry for several decades because of the quality and design of their clothes. Silk and woolen products have been traditional composite material, however, Italy also produces cotton, synthetics, and techno-textile formulations. A lot of the manufacturing varies with the regions, as Lombardy specializes in silk, and Puglia specializes in synthetic fibers. Even though the clothes are fantastic, the food is even better. Now most Italians eat their main meal at lunch time, which consists of a pasta course, a main course, and sometimes an appetizer or antipasto course. The appetizer may have cold cuts such as salami and prosciutto, or vegetables such as olives and artichoke hearts. Now pasta in Italy can vary by region. In northern Italy, pasta is served with a cream sauce such as alfredo. More toward the southern part of Italy contains pasta with marinara sauce or other tomato based sauces.
La bandiera a Italia
On June 19, 1946 Italy had adopted its most recent flag from the French flag design.
