WASHINGTON D.C. TRIP

Last week The Buzz took a break. I had the incredible opportunity to serve as a mom and chaperone on the middle school trip to Washington D.C. The students represented Concord SO WELL!!! We learned a lot, walked a lot, saw a lot, and made a lot of memories. We intend the offer the trip to our 7th and 8th graders in the spring of 2024. Watch The BUZZ for more information about future field trip opportunites.

BUGS!!!

The 4th graders have been researching the pros and cons of Entomophagy, eating insects. They have learned about agriculture and health benefits. They also learned about dangers. Today, they had the chance to taste mealworms, and roasted crickets, and 4 lucky children tried a Giant Rhino Beetle. We had a lot of mixed emotions about whether we wanted to add them to our diets or not.

SENIORS LEAVE THE BUILDING!!

For the senior sendoff, please read the Concord Chronicle article written by Savannah Gamet and Connor Haire. GOOD LUCK AND BEST WISHES CLASS OF 2022!! We are very proud of you and your accomplishments. You will be missed, but YOU ARE READY!!!

SENIOR'S FINAL MESSAGE

The Concord Chronicle has given a voice to our high school. It has been so incredible to hear the stories that up until now have gone unheard. I really have enjoyed getting to know the students through their stories. Some of the stories were funny, some were serious, but none has been as moving, for me personally, as the final pieces are done by Omarion Culliver and Georgia Weeks. I hope you enjoy the moving words in the articles below. THANK YOU OMARION AND GEORGIA!!! You helped build the future of communication at Concord High School. Your voices will be missed!! We wish you the best of luck as you take the next steps in your grand adventure!

YELLOWJACKET OF THE WEEK!

This week's trait is being confident! Confident means feeling sure of yourself and your abilities; not in an arrogant way, but in a realistic, secure way. Being confident isn't about feeling superior to others; it's the quiet inner knowledge that you are an awesome, capable person! These YellowJackets of the Week demonstrated confidence throughout the week! Congratulations! #ONEHIVE

Conference championships are hard to come by for any sport in any conference. It takes a special group of kids with the right combination of academic and athletic dedication, commitment to growth and improvement, and a little talent to make the magic happen. This year we have won three different boys Big 8 Conference Titles: Track, Basketball, and Cross County. The common denominator in all three titles was three OUTSTANDING HUMANS!!

Adair Artis, Jonathan Mikovits, and Isaac Waldron were leaders on all three teams. Plus, each of them has a 4.0 or higher GPA and is a class act on and off the field. CONGRATULATIONS TO THESE THREE AND ALL OF THE REMAINING FABULOUS ATHLETES!!!!

SPRING SPORTS PICTURES

Posted below are the 2022 Spring Sports Portraits taken by two staff photographers from the Concord Chronicle: senior Georgia Weeks, juniors Caylin Bell and Connor Haire, and sophomore Rylee Sinden.

Team portraits should be added next week, as well as occasional action shots, were taken at team competitions.

We cannot thank our community enough for trusting our student photographers to take this risk and use their skills to benefit their classmates. This makes sports portraits affordable for our families and empowers our students. As always constructive feedback is appreciated.
