-Helping keep the hallways and bathrooms clean.

-Being a part of a club or sports team.

-Doing your best in all of your classes.

Monday, March 7th: Face Masks Optional

Effective March 7, 2022, Executive Order 251 will expire and school districts will no longer be required to enforce mask mandates. As such, mask usage in the Cinnaminson Township School District will be optional for all staff and students.

Mutual respect for the unique decisions made by students and their families with the expiration of the mask mandate remains a top priority throughout our school district as we transition to a mask-optional environment. Please reinforce this expectation with your child at home so that every individual at CMS feels safe and cared for, regardless of personal choices about masking. Thank you for your support and partnership!

Friday, March 11, 2022: International SEL Day

Big picture

The Cinnaminson School District is proud to participate with communities around the globe in celebrating the importance of social-emotional learning (SEL) on the third annual International SEL Day on Friday, March 11, 2022. This celebration will support one of our district’s professional development goals which focuses on Social Emotional Learning.

Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. Studies show that SEL provides many benefits to students including improved well-being and academic outcomes. Today, we use this opportunity to encourage all community members to learn about and share their knowledge of the importance and impact of integrating evidence-based SEL into our schools, organizations, and community.

To celebrate SEL day, our school community will strategically promote social-emotional learning throughout the day through classroom lessons, morning announcements promoting positive affirmations, and fun, engaging activities. If you would like to learn more about the five core competencies of social emotional learning click HERE.

CMS Pirate Players Spring Musical: Moana Jr.

Cinnaminson Middle School's Pirate Players proudly presented Moana Jr. for its 2022 spring musical. It was a joy to watch our students perform in front of live audiences for the first time in two years! Thanks to all of the parents within the drama program and to audience members for supporting the arts in Cinnaminson. We are especially proud of our students in the cast and stage crew, as well as our dedicated staff: Ms. Beri and Mr. Cirino (Co-Directors), Mrs. Sigmund (Vocal Director), Mr. Spencer (Producer), and Mr. Bisicchia (Stage Manager).

The Pirate Players are also selling access to a virtual release of Moana Jr. the weekend of March 12th for a family ticket cost of $15. There are shows for both the Opening Cast and Closing Cast available at: https://www.showtix4u.com/events/23281

CMS Club & Activity Updates

Science Club

The Science Club is working to increase their coding skills. Using Khan Academy, club members are working through self guided tutorials to learn coding basics and have fun.

S.T.O.P. Club

In S.T.O.P. Club, the students created a "STOP and Take What You Need" interactive display. Students and/or teachers can keep a short message for themselves, or grab one to pass it along to another student or colleague. To celebrate February as the month of kindness, S.T.O.P. thought this would be a great interactive board that's accessible to anyone in the building.

eSports Club

The CMS Overwatch team in action! The CMS Overwatch and Rocket League teams are enjoying the opportunities to collaborate in the digital world while improving teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.

Super Bowl Cereal Challenge

A great big THANK YOU to our CMS families for your generous donations to the Super Bowl Cereal Challenge! We donated over 500 lbs. of cereal from the middle school!
