A message from Mr. Massey - Principal of Northwestern High School
Dear Northwestern Families,
On Monday, March 22nd, Northwestern will welcome over 1100 students to campus together for the first time in over a year! We are excited to have the majority of our Trojans back on campus to finish the 2020-2021 school year. As students return to 5-day instruction, we realize that some may miss time here or there due to close contacts. During those expected periods of absences, teachers will continue to provide recorded lessons through Canvas so that our students can engage in real-time while out.
As we move forward with our larger group 5 days on campus, we have taken several measures to ensure that we remain as safe as possible during school hours. Although our plans to remain safe during the return are extensive, our best defense during school hours continues to be our students and staff following safety guidelines. As students return to classes Monday, please remind them to continue to do the following:
- Wear masks/face guards at all times while on campus
- Socially distance during lunches and transition times
- Do not congregate between classes, before or after school in courtyard areas
- Do not share personal items during classes
- Wear student IDs at all times on campus
Our students have done an excellent job thus far Carrying The TORCH and upholding all of our safety protocols while on campus! I expect the same from them on Monday as we begin a return to normalcy.
Sincerely,
Hezekiah Massey, III

NHS AFJROTC Shines in Virtual Visit
"The Northwestern AFJROTC received a "virtual visit" from their headquarters' Regional Director this past Monday. This visit provided an opportunity for the Cadets to provide a mission briefing highlighting the success of their program here at Northwestern. We are so proud of the cadets for their academic excellence, discipline, leadership, and community participation. All of which were displayed and highlighted during the Director's visit". They continue to demonstrate the true meaning of carrying the "TORCH"!!!
