Half Day School
Donations Equaled Big Results
The Half Day Student Council collected boxes of items for the Vernon Township Food Pantry. Students sorted and boxed the items, which included soup, rice, cereal, and a host of other canned and boxed items. Thank you to everyone who dropped off items. Self-Care for the Caregivers: Fostering Family Well Being
D96, D102, D103 Parent Education and the Vernon Area Library are excited to welcome back clinical psychologist Dr. Caroline Adelman to help us develop strategies for navigating our roles as parents with greater attention to self-care, self-compassion, and intentionality around our values. Dr. Adelman, of Chicago Psychotherapy, will discuss how parental prioritization of self-care and self-regulation can result in better co-regulation and decreased stress for the entire family.
Dr. Adelman will expand on the classic metaphor of "placing the oxygen mask on ourselves, before we can help others", by discussing evidence based coping tools, self-regulation tools, and strategies for improving and modeling "emotional hygiene" in the family system.
This event will be presented in a hybrid format with both a virtual option, and the opportunity to attend live at the Vernon Area library. The first 75 individuals to register below will be able to attend the event in person.
7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 1
Meet the Candidates for the D103 School Board
Come join the PTO for an opportunity to meet the dedicated individuals running for the D103 School Board in this virtual venue. We encourage you to submit questions for the candidates. Due to time limitations, not all questions may be presented to the candidates. Our goal of hosting this forum is to allow parents and constituents to get to know the candidates better and discover which individuals best represent their needs and ideals on the D103 school board.
Reserve your spot today for the 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 13, virtual event.

Community Satisfaction Survey
The Village of Lincolnshire is seeking your opinion on what it does well, what it can do better, and the services residents/community leaders value most! By taking 15 minutes to complete this survey, you’re guiding Village-wide decisions about public safety, water service, economic development, road maintenance, special events, preservation of natural spaces, and more. Paper copies are available at Village Hall or the Vernon Area Public Library. Please submit only one survey per Lincolnshire household/business by Friday, Feb. 17. Surveys should be completed by a resident/employee who is at least 18 years old. Thank you for sharing your vision of Lincolnshire.
