Who is Malala?
Malala is a young girl who stands up for education in her country. She started her career at age 15. Malala had many challenges during her 18 years of life. Malala is still alive and helping girls who can't go to school. Read the rest to find out more!
Childhood
Malala was born July 12, 1997 in Mingora, Pakistan. She grew up in Swat Valley. Malala has two brothers, Khushal and Atal. Malala went to Edgbaston High School, she wanted to follow her dads foot steps, being an educator. She was in a show called Caption Talk! Malala is now 18 and trying to help girls that can not go to school, but she is standing up for her rights
Impact
Malala stood up for what she believed in, which is letting young girls in her country go to school . People say that Malala has made a bigger impact for the world. J
Famous for / Awards.
Malala won the Nobel peace prize in October 10, 2014. Malala also won the Humans right in 2013 it is awarded only every 5 years, she won the first pacifist nation youth peace price. Malala made a book called," I am Malala The Girl Who Stood up for Education and got Shot by the Taliban". There is now a day called Malala Day it is July 12 but other people say it's October 10 when she got shot in the head. Malala also has a movie called, "He named me Malala".
Challenges
Malala got shot in the head by the Taliban. The bullet entered by her left eye traveled to her left ear drum and went down to her shoulder. She survived, but got severely injured at age 15. Malala got sent many death threats. There was a bomb under her car. People were angry and bombed a school bus which killed 100 little girls! The people that shot Malala also attacked the Twin Towers in New York City. The Taliban were also responsible for bombing over 400 schools in Pakistan.
