Message from Mrs. Langston
I hope everyone had a relaxing, restful spring break! It is hard to believe we only have 6 weeks of school left!
Supplies and Snack Needed
Thank you for the donations of cleansing wipes and paper towels! These donations are greatly appreciated.
Our snack box is still empty. Donations appreciated! Please do not forget to send a small snack and a water bottle to school each day! I Otherwise, your child may not have a snack.
IMPORTANT: Please make sure computers are charged every night! Lately, our class has at least 5 students per day who bring computers to school not charged.
Homework
Independent reading for at least thirty minutes each night is always very important, especially this time of year.
Students will also have math homework every night!
Learning Goals for the Week
ELA:
Reading: I can explain the major differences between poems, drama, and prose, and refer to the structural elements of poems and drama when writing or speaking about a text.
I can compare and contrast the use of similar themes and topics and patterns of events in stories, myths, and traditional literature from different cultures.
Writing
I can write about a personal experience including two events in sequence.
Math:
I can draw and identify points, lines, line segments, rays, angles, and perpendicular and parallel lines.
I can classify quadrilaterals and triangles based on angle measure, side lengths, and the presence or absence of parallel or perpendicular lines.
I can recognize symmetry in a two-dimensional figure, and identify and draw lines of symmetry.
I can develop an understanding of angles and angle measurement.
Science:
I can explain how magnets interact with all things made of iron and with other magnets to produce motion without touching them. I can also explain how electrically charged objects push or pull on other electrically charged objects and produce motion.
Multiplication Practice Always Needed
I'm done! Now what?
