Expectant Parent's Expectations...

Eating for two means eating TWICE as well!

"Nutrients are the elements of life, the fuel that propels development."

It is important to make sure that during pregnancy, diets are rich in protein, zinc, and folic acid.
Just because you're eating for two doesn't mean you should be eating twice as much, but rather twice as WELL!
Proper nutrition during pregnancy is key to avoid central nervous dysfunction, prematurity, and low-birth-weight births.

If you do not have access to proper nutrition, there are programs designed specifically so that you are not alone!

Women, Infants, and Children (also known as WIC) will help make sure that you and your baby get exactly what you need to ensure proper development.

Remember, whatever mom takes, baby takes!

It is of the utmost importance to check with your doctor about what medications you can and can not take while pregnant.

Some perceptions and even over-the-counter medications can be good for mommy but might lead to harmful side affects for your baby.

Drinking and smoking should be cut-out completely while pregnant and even after, especially if you are planning to breast feed!
