Introduction to Spain

In this Smore you will learn about a spanish speaking country called Spain. You will learn about Region, Money, Ethnic groups, Religon, Learning, Holidays, Traditional Clothing, Food, Data, Technology.

Region

Due to the large size of the country, there are 3 different climates. They are the Mediterranean climate, the Csa climate and the African climate. The lowest is 2˚C and the high is 9˚C. Ways people travel are plane, train, bus, car and inner-city transportation. The form of government is parliamentary monarchy and the leader is Felipe VI. The citizen rights are free movement through the UE and voting in the european elections.

Spain's Money

The money is called the Euro. 1 euro is worth $1.11 US dollar. The GDP per capita is $25,617.55. Spain's most important imports are oil, vehicles, machines, electronic equipment, pharmaceuticals, plastic, organic chemicals, iron and steel, clothing, and medical or technical equipment. Also, the most important exports are vehicles, machines, oil, electronic equipment, pharmaceuticals, plastics, fruits, nuts, iron and steel (and their products) and clothing.

Spain Religon & Learning

Ethnic groups are: Aragoneses, Andalusians, Asturians, Basques, Castilians, Catalans, Cantabrians, Galicians and Gypsies. Freedom of religion is guaranteed by the Spanish Constitution, but the majority is Catholic. The progression of learning is: Preschool, Primary school, Spanish secondary school, Spanish high school to Spanish University.

Gazpacho Recipe

  • 4 cups tomato juice
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, minced
  • 1 cucumber, chopped
  • 2 cups chopped tomatoes
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dried tarragon
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste

In a blender or food processor, combine tomato juice, onion, bell pepper, cucumber, tomatoes, green onions, garlic, lemon juice, red wine vinegar, tarragon, basil, parsley, sugar, salt and pepper. Blend until well-combined but still slightly chunky. Chill at least 2 hours before serving.
