Dear Parents and Carers,
It seems like no time at all since we were returning from the summer holidays and already it is half term! What a busy half term it has been! I am so impressed with how well our children have settled back into routines in their new classes and by the standard of the work they are producing despite the ongoing issues around covid that we have experienced. Thank you for your support with this.
We have had a busy week this week with a visit from Selby Foodbank at our Harvest festival worship. They took away many bags of donated goods and were very grateful to you, our school families, for your support.
On Thursday, the schools' cross country competition had to be cancelled so we held our own. The children persevered to complete the course with some outstanding results. Well done key stage 2!
A few notices this week:
- School closes today and we return on Monday 1st November at 8:50am
- We are a mobile phone free zone! Please try not to use your phone on our site. We would much prefer you to talk to your children about their day and their learning.
- Please continue to use LFT testing over the half term break and particularly before your child returns to school on Monday 1st November.
Have a lovely half term

KS2 Cross Country
Since lots of classes in KS2 have been working on their running skills, we decided to have a cross country competition. It was fabulous to be able to cheer each other on as a key stage and we showed amazing perseverance to run 1500m which is 16 laps of our playground! Well done to everyone in KS2.
Message from the Head Boy and Head Girl
This week we feel that everyone has been kind and caring to teachers and their friends.
Hopefully everyone enjoyed their sports. They did such amazing running and Brazilian martial arts.
Everyone was persevering and was very resilient in their running of 16 laps of the playground . Also every child in KS2 was supporting each other.

Times Tables Rock Stars
Another great week on TTRockstars! It's really great to see so many children working hard on their times tables knowledge. Our winners this week are: Ivor H, Bradley S and Evie H. Well done to all.
The first week after half term we will be celebrating the class who have been on TTRockstars and Numbots the most. They will be our 'Class of the Week' and will proudly be given a certificate to hang on their door or window.
Numbots
It has been great to see so many children in KS1 working hard on Numbots and we can see the difference this effort is making in class. Well done everyone!
Special congratulations to our Numbots superstars this week; Clara (Bears). Harry (Bees), Brodie (Hummingbirds) and Georgia (Tigers). Remember to keep practising over half term!

A Message from the Children in Eco/Gardening Club
We would like you to collect 2 litre clear plastic bottles with lids to recycle in to an eco friendly greenhouse for our school garden. This will hopefully be used to help grow seedlings next year in our school grounds.
Kind regards
