Jonathan Edwards was born in October 5th, 1703. He was the son of Timothy Edwards, a minister at Connecticut. He was the 5th child and the only boy out of 11 children. He was extremely smart, because he got into Yale when he was 13. He died from smallpox inoculation on March 22, 1758.

Jonathan Edwards was one of the most important leaders of the Great Awakening. He was a revivalist, preacher, a philosopher, and a Congregationalist Protestant theologian. Rooted in Reformal theology, the metaphysics of theological determinism, and the Puritan heritage. He also followed George Whitefield's tour of the 13 colonies.
Other random things he did
He wrote "The End For Which God Created the World, The Life of David Brainerd, and Religious Affections, and Sermon Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God", which called up frightening images in 1741. He married Sarah Pierpont, once bought a slave named Venus, and was the grandfather of Aaron Burr, the third Vice President of the United States.
