New Worship Series for May: I See You
God creates, knows, loves, and sees all of us in our full humanity. But as people, we can fall into the habit of assuming everyone is the same or everyone is like us. While we share a common humanity, these assumptions can be harmful and prevent us from truly seeing other people and listening to their perspectives. By looking at Biblical stories, this series will help us learn how to listen to, respect, affirm, and act for and with others. In doing so, we can also come to know God even more fully.
Join us for worship on Sunday, which will include Holy Communion. Individually packaged elements will be provided or you are welcome to bring your own bread and juice.
Sunday, May 2 | Week 1 | Hearing Other Voices
We can be so busy on our mission that we stop listening. Yet, as Christians, we cannot fully engage in our mission without taking the time to hear the voices on the side of the road.

- Contemporary Worship | 11 a.m. | Outdoors (east parking lot)
***The service will be moved indoors if there is rain.***
- Livestream | 8:30 a.m. | Church website or Facebook
Indoor Worship | 8:30 a.m.
Please make a reservation to join us for indoor traditional worship. Safety measures include social distancing and the use of a face mask throughout the service. Details are listed in the What to Expect for Indoor Worship guide.
Outdoor Worship | 11 a.m. | Service will be moved indoors if there is inclement weather.
Outdoor contemporary worship begins at 11 a.m. Bring your own chair and gather on the east parking lot. A reservation is not needed to attend. Safety measures include social distancing and the use of a face mask when interacting with others. The face mask can be removed during the service. Details are listed in the What to Expect for Outdoor Worship guide or in the Worship Update sent earlier this week. The digital bulletin includes the song lyrics.
Child care is available during outdoor worship with a reservation to Christina Dixon at firstname.lastname@example.org before noon the day prior. The kids play on the small playground. There will not be child care if the service is moved indoors.

Holy Communion Planned for Sunday
It also will be part of the outdoor worship service, unless the service is moved indoors due to inclement weather. If the service is held indoors, communion will be held outside immediately after the service.
Prepackaged elements will be provided or you are welcome to bring your own bread and juice.
Macy Kunke to Serve as Youth Intern
Macy Kunke has been hired to serve as Youth Intern. She will organize and lead our youth program, with the support of the Youth Council, during the next several months.
Macy has been a member of the Vista Ridge UMC family for 17 years, was active in youth, and attended the annual mission trips.
She is thrilled to be building stronger relationships with the youth group and their families while the church searches for a permanent youth director. A BFA technical theatre graduate from Stephens College, Macy will begin her MFA in stage management at the California Institute of the Arts in September.
Macy values inclusivity and hospitality above all and is excited to help the young leaders of the church grow into powerful advocates for God.
Hannah Rachal to Lead Contemporary Music
Hannah Rachal has taken on an interim role of leading contemporary music through August 15. Hannah joined the Vista Ridge staff in July 2019 as Director of Traditional Worship.

In her position as Interim Director of Worship, she leads the adult choir, Carillon chimers, and the Praise Team.
