Dear Colts Families,
As we stride into the fourth week of the second semester, your ongoing engagement in your student's academic journey are important, and we appreciate your commitment to their success. Please remember to continue monitoring your student's progress in Parent Connect and to encourage them to take advantage of the various academic supports available. Your involvement plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of academic excellence and growth.
I would like to thank our dedicated staff members who volunteered their time and creativity to decorate our hallway bulletin boards in honor of Black History Month. The vibrant displays beautifully showcase the rich contributions of African-Americans throughout history, inspiring us all to celebrate diversity and unity.
Colts families, this month presents a wonderful opportunity for us to express our gratitude and appreciation for our hardworking staff. In collaboration with the RHIS admin team, we have compiled a wishlist of items from our staff members, and we kindly invite you to join us in showering them with tokens of appreciation. We've streamlined the process by creating a list of items on Amazon to facilitate your contributions.
Thank you so much for your continued support, and here's to a fantastic week ahead!
Eva Isett, Ed.D.

February's Counseling Focus
River Heights’ Counseling Team has been busy! Together, with the support from our AVID students, we hosted another successful backpack cleanout. We had over 100 students attend.
We will also be focusing on Healthy Friendships this month. Healthy relationships involve honesty, trust, mutual respect and open communication, boundaries and compromise from both people.
This week we are going to explore the different type of boundaries in friendships. Time boundaries highlight the importance of finding balance between social and personal responsibilities. Material boundaries focus on sharing personal materials and having expectations of how personal materials will be treated by others. Verbal boundaries which focus on how we feel if we are interrupted or our feelings aren't validated. And lastly, emotional boundaries which cover our comfort level when expressing emotions with others.
🧽 Our counselors partnered with our amazing AVID program to host a successful backpack clean out
📌 Student leaders with guidance and support from staff, helped decorate some of our bulletin boards in honor of Black History Month
💰 Our National Junior Honor Society students hit submit on their scholarship applications.
We value safety
Parents and guardians, please know that our River Height's staff and faculty value our student’s safety and wellbeing. Our team has streamlined our reporting system to ensure students report incidents to staff. If your student has witnessed an incident and would like to submit a witness statement, please have them fill out the witness statement link below. Thank you parents and guardians for supporting us in creating a safe learning environment for our students.
