Glenburnie PS Update

June 25. 2020

Big picture

Glenburnie Families,

This has been quite a year.Tomorrow is the last day of school! I would like to extend a sincere thank you to you all. You have been very supportive and understanding as we worked through staff job action and then school closure. We truly value our parent-staff collaboration to support our students. Please know that we recognize the tremendous positivity and support of our community and feel very fortunate.

Reports have been mailed home this week. If you would like to discuss your child's learning, please contact your child's teacher by Friday, June 26th.

As we wrap things up, we extend congratulations to our Grade 8 grads and wish them all the best as they move on to high school. We also say good-bye and good-luck to a few students moving to new schools - we will miss you!

As you know Mrs. Gailer and Mrs. McLeod have both retired! They loved the kind, sweet messages they received from students. We welcome Mrs. Ford, Kindergarten Teacher, and Mrs. V (Vankoughnett), ECE.

Director Rantz sent home a message to parents this week (see link below). The plan for re-opening schools in September is yet to be fully determined. It is possible that we will have at least part tme attendance at school in September. I really look forward to seeing our Grizzlies at school as soon as it is safe to do so. I am sure you have many questions. I ecnourage you to check our school and Limestone websites over the summer for updates, especially in early August when the Ministry will make final decisions on the return to school plan.

If you have not yet had a chance, I encourage you to fill out the Return to School Survey to provide your input.

We wish you all a happy and safe summer.
