The KOLT Connection

From the principal
Hello Kenilworth Families,
I hope you are doing well during this unprecedented time in our country. Over the past week, district and site administration, along with our incredibly dedicated educators, have been doing our best to create distance learning opportunities that are meaningful and continue to help our young people grow academically. To that end, Mr. Ortlinghaus and I have put together a short video we encourage you to watch that is intended to help provide some guidance as to how KJHS plans to move forward with distance learning. As of yesterday, we have been told distance learning will need to take place through at least May 1st. There will undoubtedly be challenges and online growing pains as we navigate this new educational terrain, but please remember we are in this together.
Here is the distance learning schedule we discuss in the attached video. Again, this is intended to be a guide to help families plan and prioritize their day. We know many families have students at all levels of education; therefore, as a district, we have tried to create a schedule that allows students at a variety of levels to experience academic success. The distance learning schedule will begin on Monday, March 30th. Everything is fluid right now, and changes may need to take place as we move forward. Students can expect to hear from their teachers over the next couple of days, so encourage them to check their email and teacher websites (linked here) That’s all for now, take care of yourselves. We are here for you!

- The morning hours are set aside for teachers to prepare work while students can use that time to complete assignments.
- Teachers will be available to check in with students or assist them with questions about their lessons using this modified schedule of classes.
