National Get Fit, Don't Sit Day

The American Diabetes Association has designated May 4th as National Get Fit, Don't Sit Day! They encourage adults to get up and move around every 90 minutes throughout the day. Here are a few ideas of ways to get moving!

  • Set reminders on your phone or computer to remind you to get up and move every 90 minutes.
  • Turn your next meeting into a standing or walking meeting if possible.
  • Use your 15 minute breaks as walking breaks.
  • Do some simple stretches at your desk.
  • Take the long route to the bathroom.
  • Bike to work.

If you have more ideas of ways to get moving, please share with Bethany Allison and they will get shared in next week's newsletter. The more creative, the better!
