Red Oak ISD Digital Fluency Pilot
What It Is and How to Apply
What is the pilot and what technology does it include?
Red Oak ISD is pleased to host a Digitally Fluent Classroom pilot program. The pilot participants will participate in training for teacher and student use of Google Apps for Education, student BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), and technology integration with instruction. In addition to the training, participants will also receive an Epson short throw projector for classroom use, an iPad for the classroom, and on the secondary level, a collaboration space.
What are the commitments if selected for the pilot?
To be considered for and to remain in the pilot, participants must attend the Red Oak ISD Digital Fluency training via Turbo Meetings (web meetings) approximately every other week after school. Participants will provide feedback, evidence, and artifacts to the district showing how they transformed instruction through the utilization of the technology with the pilot. During the summer of 2015 and 2016, pilot teachers will each be required to present a minimum of 2 one and a half hour trainings on use of instructional technology in the classroom. Additionally, they will serve as a Trainer of Trainer on their campus for the 2015-2016 school year.
