PTA Fundraiser begins Today!

Today each student at HPE received a fundraiser packet from PTA. Each family received a sample coupon book from SaveAround and each student received a sample cup from Brax. We are making it easy this year and selling only two items. The coupon book is only $20, great for everyone and easy to get your money back. (Just look at the first page with the Price Chopper Coupons.) The books can be ordered for many areas around the USA. The cups are a favorite and can be custom ordered to meet the needs of any fan. Think holiday shopping!

Both items sent home are for sample items. Do not sell the sample book.

Once the fundraiser ends, or if you choose not to participate, just send in the sample book and cup. However, If you sell three Brax items you do get to keep the sample cup.

In the packet you will also find the prize information to review.

Also, look for the yellow sheet that explains how to set up the e-store for on-line ordering of the cups. That makes it easy to share on social media and at work.

Thank you for your support! With each of us doing a little part, we can make this a HUGE success.

2015-16 HPE Choir

There are NO auditions - the only requirement is a willingness to make music! Students will wear their HPE shirts and jeans for all performances.

All rehearsals will be held in the HPE Music Room, from 7:30 to 8:05 AM, on Friday mornings. Students will enter through the fire escape door. (The door will be opened at 7:20 AM.)

Fitness Club

Hey Fitness Leaders!

Come join the fun and the tradition of our HPE Fitness Club! We get together after school to walk, run, and play!

In addition to modeling fitness and a healthy lifestyle, the staff and students are training for the October 10th Lee’s Summit Education Foundation Race for the Future. Each year, there is a contest between all Lee’s Summit schools to see which school has the most staff and students enter the race. Last year we DID NOT have enough participants to win a prize. Here’s a challenge to all fitness leaders…if you enter the race and beat any HPE staff member’s time, we will celebrate your fitness with an extra recess. If we are a top three school, you can help decide where the $500 prize money will be used for. Let’s see how many students and staff we can sign up for the Race for the Future. Let’s be the fitness leaders for the whole school district!

Staff members will train with HPE students on Mondays and Wednesdays AFTER school from 3:30 to 4:15. We will walk, run, and play some games. If you are unable to walk in the Race for the Future, that’s okay – please come join us at Fitness Club anyway. Fitness Club starts Wednesday, September 9. Parents are also invited to walk and help monitor students. If you give permission for your child to stay after school, please complete the WAIVER form and return it to your child’s teacher. In addition, we expect our students to use their leadership skills during fitness club and behave accordingly.

Make plans to pick up your child at 4:15 at the front of our building on Club days. Kids Country students will return to Kids Country at 4:15, as well.

In case of inclement weather (including excessive heat), we will stay indoors.

Club Dates (3:30 to 4:15) – Sept. 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28 and 30/Oct. 5 and 7
