Waipawa School
Term 4, Week 2, 26th October 2022
At Waipawa we value:
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Kia ora koutou,
I hope you all managed to enjoy the long weekend. Once Labour Weekend passes time seems to speed up and before we know it Christmas will be here - 60 days to go!
A huge thanks to Whanau and Friends and all the helpers for putting on a Disco last Thursday. Lots of effort goes into these events so thank you to the Whanau and Friends group for giving up their time to make it happen. Both Discos had a great turn out and lots of fun was had by all.
Our attention now turns to the Twilight Market (Friday 25 November) where we will have market stalls, food stalls, class stalls. I know Whanau and Friends are working hard to pull it together and all our classes are working away on this and will be for the next 4 weeks. We did a children's market a few years back and it was a lot of fun and a success so hopefully this will be even better. We are also running a Top School's event and from next week some of our Year 5-8 children will start to trial these 6 activities so they are ready for the event on Friday 25 November.

SPORTS NEWS
Uniform Shorts
We now stock shorts. We trialled some children in these shorts last term and we got the thumbs up. We do have supply issues with the smaller size shorts at the moment but hopefully this is sorted shortly. Please note prices continue to increase but we are not passing these on and do not intend to. These shorts are for sale at $20.00 a pair.
Term 4 is also the term for hats. A supply of bucket hats should be here this week. Hat wearing is compulsory for Terms 4 and 1
Top School Event
At the Twilight Gala there will be a CHB Top Schools event - loosely based on old Top Town events. One item that is really needed for this event are plastic drums or barrels around the 200 litre size. We need quite a few of these so please let us know if you can help us out.
Scholastic Bookclub
This Issue will close on Friday 4th November.
If you are late, you are going to an appointment, you have been to an appointment or a student is away from school.
If your child is not attending school for any reason please make contact with either the school office or the classroom teacher by phone, using the Hero App or Seesaw. Relying on siblings to inform us often doesn't work.
