Crockett Cougar Chatter
May 2022
Crawford's Corner
It is hard to believe we are already approaching the end of the 2021-2022 school year. We have accomplished so much as we came back from a near empty building last year. We advanced in many athletic and fine arts programs and we were able to highlight many student successes in this and previous Cougar Chatters. Congratulations to everyone for getting through a tough school year! However, even in the middle of a global pandemic, our students still rose to being Always Victorious. We look forward to celebrating at all of our year end celebrations and our fabulous Class of 2022 at the many events listed below.
This summer we will be offering a variety of programs like summer school, TSI Summer Bridge, and EOC Summer testing. Stay tuned for more details on these important events.
Thank you to all of you who took time out to donate and write a note for our Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week. It means so much to each of us! I don't think I say it often enough, but it brings me so much joy to lead such an amazing school with a community that supports our students and staff in so many ways.
I recently saw a quote that stated, "what feels like the end is often the beginning." It is the beginning of a new life for our soon to be graduates; a beginning of a union for me as I begin my new marriage (I got married in March and will be Ms. Manor whenever I can make my way to the Social Security Office over the summer :-) ); a beginning of our students preparing to be mentors to our future freshmen; and a beginning of summer that is hopefully filled with memories of a lifetime.
I am sending you all so much peace, love, and light as we close at this school year and prepare for the next.
Ms. Crawford (The future Ms. Manor)

IMPORTANT SENIOR INFORMATION!
Please look over the Senior presentation that was shared with our students today during advisory. It contains important information about the end of the year festivities.

Important: Immunization Records
The Crockett nurse would like to remind parents that students must have their immunizations up to date before the first day of school on August 15, 2022. Otherwise, parents will be asked to obtain the needed vaccines for their child before the student is allowed to return to class.
The Texas Department of Health has ruled that students must be current with immunizations in order to attend school unless an exemption has been filed with the school in accordance with Texas Education Code. Parents may fax or mail the updated immunization record to Crockett or, if the school is closed for the summer, records can be faxed to 512-406-6543 or mailed to Children’s/AISD Health Services at 1345 Philomena St. Suite 300.
If you have received a call or text about missing immunizations for your student, please contact the Crockett nurse at julie.carr@austinisd.org or call the health room at 512-414-7888 for specific information regarding your student. Thank you!
