The Stallion Stampede
Janie Stark Elementary Parent Newsletter
August 30, 2020
Dear Stallion Families,
As we enter our last week of remote learning, our staff is working hard to prepare our building and develop procedures that are safe and effective for our students when they return on September 8th.
Using the guidelines established by CFBISD, we have refined our arrival and dismissal procedures to ensure all staff and students are safe and adhere to the guidance established by state and county health officials. Please read below for specific details that will help your child if they will be returning to our building on September 8th as a traditional learner.
Our completed Stark Elementary Re-Entry Plan will be available to you next week. Stay tuned!
The halls make look and move differently at Stark, but one thing will always stay the same...we love and care for our students and will do anything it takes to keep them safe, healthy, and loving to learn!
To the BEST of days,
Mrs. Putman

8 Tips for Remote Learning at Home
We are here for you! We know remote learning can sometimes be a challenge at home. Please see some helpful tips below to set your child up for success during this time.
Here are a few helpful tips for remote learning:
- Pay attention to all communication from our school and CFBISD.
- Have school supplies ready for use.
- Set up a quiet learning area or space in your home.
- Adjust your child's schedule to match the school day.
- Have your child log into live class lessons 5 minutes early so your child is ready to learn.
- Students should actively participate virtually with their class.
- Students need at least 8 hours of sleep nightly.
- Have a visual schedule posted so that your child can see the times, order and the expectations.

Attendance for Remote Learning
Student progress in Canvas made that day,
Students attending "live" instruction through WebEx or Google Meets that day
Students turning in the daily assignment(s).
We hope to see your child online each day. Teachers will be delivering live instruction that will help your child make progress on daily work in Canvas and Seesaw. However, we know situations will arise that may prevent your child from being able to log in to a live session that day. Please always have your child check-in on Canvas and complete the assignments that day so they are counted in attendance.
