Inspiring Tomorrow's Innovators, Today!
February 21, 2021
Notes from our Director
Hello DATA community,
What a week we just experienced. Similar to lots of you, many of our staff lost power and water for days on end. Looking out at the weather today, no one would believe the conditions we faced this past week. Although the situation proved to be very trying for many, it also brought about many acts of kindness. We saw neighbors shoveling driveways, blankets shared with homeless, people sharing water with strangers, CPS linemen working round the clock shifts, family taking in others without power, and warm meals served to those who lost all food. There were also many snowmen designed and several photos shared from our DATA family. We have included several photo submissions below. Enjoy!
NEISD has visited our school and facilities to make sure our buildings are ready for students and staff on Monday. NEISD will be open as scheduled for in-person and virtual learning tomorrow, Monday, February 22. We are asking students/staff to bring their own water bottles for drinking. Our restrooms are working and Nutrition Services will be able to provide meals as usual. We look forward to seeing you on Monday.
Course Selections for next year will also continue. Mrs. Lockamy will be meeting with the freshmen this week via zoom in their English classes. Remember, the TR course card, the DATA pathway and electives, plus the course catalog links are all located on slide 5 in Mrs. Lockamy's Bitmoji Counselor's Information, if students want to take a look and be prepared for the meeting. If students want to make changes to their selections, we would ask that those changes be communicated with Mrs. Lockamy by March 5 as we plan and prepare for next year.
Thank you for reviewing the many details and reminders included below. Please continue to stay safe. If you have specific questions, please feel free to reach out.
Stay well,
Lori Murach
