Week of April 20th - April 24th

Happy Monday to everyone! Here is a look at the week ahead:

Monday, April 20th:

Fifth grade will be taking the math STAAR today. Please keep this in mind as you move through the halls, as there will be small groups testing in various places throughout the building. Let's all wear our #Respect shirts to show our support for our 5th grade!

Tuesday, April 21st: 3rd & 4th grade will be taking the math STAAR today. Again, small groups will be testing throughout the building, so please be mindful of this as you move through the hallways. Today let's wear our new turquoise blue OSE shirts to support our 3rd & 4th grade testers.

*Teacher Self-Report Parts 2 & 3 are due today.

Wednesday, April 22nd: 3rd, 4th AND 5th grade will be STAAR testing today - The last day of this year's testing season! Woo hoo! One more day of keeping the halls quiet :) May the force be with all of us - let's all wear our STAAR Wars shirts today to celebrate the last day of testing!

Today is Administrative Professional's Day - take a minute to thank our fabulous office ladies for everything they do!

Thursday, April 23rd: 3:30 - 4:30 Kindergarten Assessment: Thank you to everyone that has volunteered to help out this afternoon.

Friday, April 24th: TGIF! Feel free to leave as soon as your kiddos have connected with their way home.

Tonight is the LISD Employee Awards Banquet. We have 2 1/2 tables that will be cheering on our fabulous OSE Stars: Nikki Robison, Barbara Sutton, Brandi Holston, and Barbara Lau. What an awesome group to represent Old Settlers!

That's all I've got STARS! If you think of something I have forgotten, please let me know and I will get it out to everyone. Have a wonderful week!

Make Them Feel Like Rock Stars!

This weekend, I came across a great blog post on where else, Twitter. :) I could relate to it, not only as the frazzled parent with the tantrum-throwing child, but also as the educator that has had to deal with children coming to school after having one of those frazzled mornings with their parents. Click on the link and read for yourself:
