DAVIS HILL COMMUNITY SUMMER UPDATE
July 5, 2018
I am hoping that everyone is enjoying a wonderful start to the summer vacation season. It certainly has felt like summer with the heat!
I have put together a few items/ reminders for the summer season below. Additionally, while we are working on definitive dates/ times for events for the upcoming year... we did want to share a few fall dates. As of now these dates should be considered tentative; however, as they are solidified I will remove the asterisk (*) making them confirmed (See below).
Kindly,
Jay C. Norton, Principal
*Don't forget to read through the entire update... there are always more dates in the Upcoming Events Section. If you have any questions/ concerns- please don't hesitate to contact me/ the office.

A Message From The Wachusett Food Pantry
On behalf of the Wachusett Food Pantry - a huge THANK YOU !! We sincerely appreciate the monthly donations from Davis Hill and love your themes to keep it fun for the kids. We know it takes a village of parents, staff & students to coordinate this effort. Plus the monthly transportation of the donations to the pantry. The support and generosity of time for the WFP is fantastic. We need more schools & volunteers like you all !! Please forward our thanks and appreciation to all involved - Enjoy the summer !!!
Volunteering/ Summer Reading
If you are interested in volunteering in the library during the next school year, please e-mail us with your day/time preference and/ or your child(ren)'s name & grade for 2018-2019 school year if you are looking to volunteer for their specific class(es).
It is extremely helpful for us to get a list started now of who is interested so we can start working on the volunteer schedule at the end of August as soon as we get the library class schedule & what class each student is going to be in. The quicker we have the volunteer schedule done, the sooner we can welcome classes into the library in the new school year.
This year's summer reading theme is "Open a Book & Start your Adventure". Packets were sent home with students during the last week of school. Please see links below if you can not find your packet. Any student who turns in a summer reading log at the beginning of the next school year will have the chance of winning a prize. Read during the summer, log your reading adventures & enjoy!
