May 5, 2021
Greetings Chisholm Families!
As our calendar turns to the month of May, I find it hard to believe this school year is quickly coming to an end. We can all agree this year has been quite a journey and one that will be stand out for a long time. Throughout the numerous ups and downs, A/B schedules, technology hurdles, and weather issues our teachers have been working tirelessly to plan, instruct, assess, and create a classroom environment where students can find the best avenue for success. Even in a normal year, challenges will occur, but we will always examine a situation, try to learn from it, and make adjustments along the way.
As we celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Week, I want to recognize and applaud our teachers for all their hard work, determination, grit, compassion, and flexibility as educators during this challenging year. There are numerous adjectives that could be added to the sentence above describing our teachers and I truly appreciate the work they pour into our students and school each and every day. They have done an amazing job!
Be sure to look through your email for the Annual Update request. This email should take parents of existing students into the parent portal where demographics information can be updated. This information helps up prepare for the 2021-22 school year.
Attached to this update is a schedule for student device check-in, which will take place starting next week. Please try to send your child's device (iPad or Chromebook) and charging cables to the school for the date and time listed below. Once devices have been checked in, students will not be allowed to take them home, although they will still have access to them while at school.
Thank you so much for your continued support during this school year. It's amazing to think where we were a year ago with everything shut down, to this year, with hope and optimism of a return to normalcy on the horizon. It's been a long and arduous journey, but it seems like we inching closer to the finish line.
Thank you again,
May 11, 2021 Bond Election
Passage of the bond issue should not raise homeowner’s taxes.
“As we have done with past bond issues, the district has planned this bond issue to keep the millage level stable between 24 and 25 mills,” said Superintendent Bret Towne. “The timing of bond sales will coincide with the retirement of existing bonds to support the district’s objective of sustaining a stable tax rate.”
All registered voters who live within Edmond Public School district boundaries qualify to vote including those residents who live outside the city limits of Edmond. Individuals should vote at their normal precincts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. For specifics on the bond proposal, please visit the district website at www.edmondschools.net

Chisholm Device Check-In
As we close the school year, it’s time to start planning for how we will check-in devices for all our students. We have a schedule listed below for the days that grade-level classes will need to bring their device and charging cables to school so they can check them in as we begin to wind down the school year.
Once devices have been checked in, we will check them back out to the teacher, where they can use them in their class until the end of the year. Checked-in devices will stay at school for the remainder of the school year. Remote instruction lessons for the remaining Wednesdays will be planned around students not having a device at home.
