Cell Cycle
Cell Cycle video
The Cell cycle is a series of events and stages that lead to cell division.
Mitosis
Mitosis video
Mitosis is the process by which a cell, which has previously replicated each of its chromosomes, separates the chromosomes in its cell nucleus into two identical sets of chromosomes.
There are 4 stages of Mitosis;
Prophase
Metaphase
Anaphase
Telophase
Prophase
The chromatin condenses into double rod-shaped structures called chromosomes in which the chromatin becomes visible. Nucleus disappears.
Metaphase
Chromosomes align in the middle of the cell. They carry genetic information before being split into each of two daughter cells.
Anaphase
The chromosomes split and the sister chromatids move to opposite poles of the cell.
Telophase
The nuclear membrane reforms then nucleoli appears. Chromosomes become chromatin.
Meiosis
Meiosis video
A type of cell division for reproduction. There are two stages; two stages, meiosis I and meiosis II with 8 phases;
