ATP - Adenosine Triphosphate
How does ATP work
One phosphate breaks from the ATP molecule to do work in the cell and one of the phosphate is removed it turns into adenosine diphosphate (ADP). When the ATP converts to ADP the ATP the ADP is usually immediately recycled in the mitochondria where it is recharged and comes out again as ATP.
How is ATP made
once the phosphate is broken it is released a little bit of energy to do work then ATP turns into ADP. once it turns into ADP it gets the energy from food and then adds the phosphate back on. and then is cycled back and forth.
