NAESP: Report to Parents - Exercise Kids' Minds During the Summer
Summertime is a great opportunity for children (and families) to unwind and enjoy days outside or on vacation! It also is the time when students tend to regress academically after finishing strong throughout the final months, weeks and days of school. This edition of "Report to Parents" identifies ways to help students retain/maintain so they "start strong" when they return in the fall.
"If students laze away the days of summer without using their minds, they can lose up to a month of learning—especially in reading and math. Stem the summer slide and keep your child engaged with these fun, brain-friendly activities."

6th Grade Unami Orientation & Think BIG! Celebration
Thursday, May 23rd was a big day in the life of a Butler 6th Grade Bear! During the afternoon, students participated in Unami Orientation - learning about the school, activities and fun times ahead when they become Middle Schoolers! Unami then gave the students a tour of their building and facility.
Upon their return, Butler 6th Grade celebrated with their Think BIG! 6th Grade Dance! Games, activities and fun ensued - as students were placed in colored teams. As part of the culminating event, children raised money for two special organizations - Make a Wish and Kind Like Joey - all proceeds will be donated to both organizations! Congratulations Butler 6th Grade!
