A Message from our Principal, Mr. Pflugrath...

Dear Osbourn Family,

We are in the final stretch of the 2022-23 school year. It has been a year like no other that we will remember forever. I am proud of how our students and staff have excelled and have grown closer together as an Osbourn family during this time. It is a true honor and privilege to serve you.

Last week we celebrated our Governor’s School Graduation, Orchestra Concert, School Board Recognitions, End of Year Award ceremonies, E-3 series community event, end of year PTSA meeting, our final Saturday Learning Seminar, and our Soccer & Track teams in postseason play.

We have a busy, but fun week ahead! On Monday, we are hosting the Cedar Run District Soccer Championship at 7 pm, Osbourn vs. Battlefield. I hope to see you there. Wednesday, please join us in the bus loop from 5 pm to 6 pm as we honor our Seniors at our drive through graduation event. On Thursday we have our Senior breakfast, graduation rehearsal, Senior Walk, and Senior Sunset. Friendly reminder that there is no school on Friday. Friday, we have our Graduation at Eagle Bank Arena at noon. We are happy to share that there are no restrictions on the number of guests and no tickets required. Doors will be open at 11 am for seating.

Seniors you must turn in your tablet to participate in graduation rehearsal and in the graduation ceremony. Seniors and any students not returning to Osbourn this fall need to return your computer tablet.

Summer School registration is now open, please see the newsletter for the details or call our Counseling Services office.

Our very own Mrs. Andino was nominated for the Prince William area Outstanding Secondary Special Education Teacher. Congratulations Brittany!

As always, thank you for your continued partnership and please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

#OneOsbourn!

Sincerely,

Mike Pflugrath

Principal

End of Year Grade Option for Students:

  • Students and Parents we wanted to remind and make you aware of an end of year grade request option. Per MCPS Policy/Reg as of 8/10/21, a student in a high school credit-bearing course may choose to opt to have their final course grade for the year be recorded as a Pass (P) or Fail (F) final course grade instead of the normal numeric grade. To request this option the parent/guardian of the student must contact the teacher of the course by May 17th. If a student elects to take a course on a P/F basis, the P/F grade will not be calculated into the students cumulative GPA.
  • If you have questions of the implications this could have on future college or career possibilities please feel free to reach out to your students assigned School Counselor.
